KATHY OUREN has worked in court administration for 33 years—29 years in Minnesota and the past 4 years in Fargo,North Dakota. She has worked in multiple areas of operations as a deputy clerk of court, chief deputy clerk of court,and clerk of court. She experienced reengineering firsthand when she became clerk of court for two counties in Minnesota. She led her staff in Fargo through conversion to a new case information system that incorporated electronic files/document imaging into case management. She helped implement a computer program for real-time courtroom clerking. Business practices were revised and created as a result of these changes. Ms. Ouren is a 2013 Institute for Court Management Fellow. She serves on North Dakota’s Odyssey User Group, Caseflow Committee, and Technology Committee.
