Hon. Ron Reinstein

Hon. Ron Reinstein served as a judge of the Superior Court of Arizona for almost 22 years and is now a judicial consultant for the Arizona Supreme Court.  He was appointed by the chief justice as the director of the Center for Evidence Based Sentencing.  Judge Reinstein currently serves on the National Advisory Board of the U.S. Justice Department Center for Sex Offender Management; the Advisory Board of the Office of Victims of Crime/National Center for State Courts’ “Victims of Crime in the Criminal Justice System” project; the working group for the National Institute of Justice “Principles of Forensic DNA for Officers of the Court” CD-ROM training project; the Advisory Board of the National Clearinghouse for Science, Technology and the Law; the National Institute of Corrections’ Advisory Committee on Evidence Based Decision Making; and the Governor’s Children’s Justice Task Force (charter member) in Arizona.  He is currently the chair of the Arizona Supreme Court Commission on Victims in the Courts and the Arizona Attorney General’s Forensic Science Advisory Committee, and a member of the Arizona Supreme Court Capital Case Task Force and the Children’s Action Alliance Juvenile Justice Committee. He is also an adjunct professor of Law at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University.  He received his B.A. from Indiana University in 1970 and his J.D. from Indiana University School of Law in 1973. In 2002, Judge Reinstein was inducted into the Indiana University School of Law’s Academy of Alumni Fellows.
