JAMES A. DE LA TORRE has over 26 years of experience counseling public-sector employees on financial matters and intricacies of their benefits and retirement systems. He has conducted seminars in all 50 states and is an active presenter at federal conferences and professional associations in the area of financial and retirement planning. He has counseled thousands of public-sector employees on financial matters such as investments, retirement, and insurance planning. His imaginative approach encourages public employees to take responsibility for their own financial future. Mr. De La Torre has appeared on the radio show Fed Talk addressing shortfalls in federal benefits and is an active participant in the federal employee blog “Federal Soup.” He graduated from the Hotel and Restaurant Management Program, City College of San Francisco, and is the president of his own firm; he holds a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC) professional designation from the College for Financial Planning; and is an active member of the Financial Planning Association.
