Hon. Mark Singer

HON.MARK SINGER is an elected county judge in Manatee County, Florida, which has a population of approximately 330,000 people. Judge Singer was appointed to the bench in November 2005 by former Florida Governor Jeb Bush and was reelected in 2008 without opposition. Before joining the judiciary, Judge Singer was an assistant state attorney, 1978-1986, and was in private practice, 1986-2005, specializing in insurance and municipal-liability defense. At the request of Mentis Technology Solutions, Judge Singer participated in the initial development and implementation of aiSmartBench. He has made presentations before the National Center for State Courts’ E-Courts Conference, Las Vegas, Nevada, December 8-10, 2008 (“E-Court—No Longer a Virtual Reality”), and the Court Technology Conference 2009, Denver, Colorado, September 22-24, 2009 (“The ROI of Emerging Technologies”). His courtroom has been paperless since 2005. He holds B.A. and J.D. degrees from the University of Florida, and he is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi. He is married and has four children (two are lawyers) and three grandchildren.
