Peter C. Kiefer has worked for the Maricopa Superior Court since 2001 first as the Criminal Court Administrator, and now as Civil Court Administrator. Before that he was Manager of Trial Court Services for the California Administrative Office of the Courts; before that he was Director of Trial Court Programs Division for the Oregon State Court Administrator’s Office providing technical assistance to trials courts throughout the state. Peter has been on Rule of Law assignments in Liberia, Beirut, and Moldova. He and Phil Knox have been surveying court professionals worldwide on the future of courts since 2012. Peter has enjoyed co-editing The Court Manager ethics column for many years and has facilitated numerous presentations on court ethics. He was honored to receive NACM’s prestigious Award of Merit for 2015. He graduated from Santa Clara University with his bachelor’s; got his Masters of Public Administration from the University of Southern California; he is a Fellow with the Institute for Court Management.
