Kent Batty was the administrator for the Superior Court from 2000 until retiring last September, which brought to a close a court administrative career of 41 years. He worked for the Colorado AOC, the Kansas AOC and for 20 years in the trial courts of Michigan (13 in Wayne County Circuit Court), before moving to Arizona. He has an undergraduate degree in management from Duke University and an MSLA from the University of Denver College of Law. He spent 8 years on NACM’s Board, culminating in the presidency. He teaches and speaks to various court groups on leadership, management, case processing, ethics and other topics. He is currently certified faculty for the Institute for Court Management’s courses on Purposes and Responsibilities of Courts, Caseflow Management and Leadership, while serving as subject matter expert on several course revisions.
