Geoffrey Burkhart

Geoffrey Burkhart is an Attorney and Project Director at the American Bar Association (ABA), where he leads the ABA’s public defense reform efforts. He previously worked for five years as an attorney at the Illinois Office of the State Appellate Defender, as a law clerk to Justice James Epstein of the Illinois Appellate Court, and as Editor in Chief of the DePaul Law Review. He currently serves as an adjunct professor at Loyola University Chicago School of Law, where he teaches Appellate Advocacy and Judicial & Scholarly Writing. He frequently writes and speaks about criminal justice.
