Dr. Matt Johnson

Dr. Matt Johnson has been a Research Analyst with Minnesota’s Fourth Judicial District (Hennepin County) since 2014, providing research support for Mental Health Court and Veterans Court while more broadly specializing in statistical analysis, survey administration, and making policy recommendations based upon empirical evidence. From 2012 to 2014, Johnson was a postdoctoral fellow at Tulane University’s Center for Inter-American Policy and Research in New Orleans. In 2012, Johnson earned his PhD from the Department of Government at the University of Texas, where he was awarded several fellowships to support his research. Before starting work on his PhD, Johnson worked as a bike courier in downtown Seattle, where he delivered important legal documents in a timely manner while deftly avoiding unsuspecting tourists.
