Conference Location

Where is the conference being held?

The conference is being held July 9-13, 2017, at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City in Arlington, Virginia. The address is 2799 Jefferson Davis Hwy, and the phone number is (703) 418-1234.


When will registration open?

Registration is now open on the conference website. You can register online or you can download a registration form in order to send a check by mail.

What does my registration include?

Registration includes the Sunday welcome reception, the Monday business lunch, the Tuesday evening social event at the Library of Congress, the Wednesday exhibit lunch, the Thursday business breakfast, and entry into all education sessions.

When will I receive confirmation of my registration?

If you register online, you will get confirmation at the conclusion of the online process. If you register by fax or by mail, you will get confirmation as soon as payment for your registration is processed.

If I am unable to attend, can I transfer my registration to someone else in my organization?

Yes. You will need to contact Conference Services as soon as you know you are unable to attend and give us the name of the person to whom your registration is being transferred. You can also transfer your registration to a future NACM conference within a year. Please consult the NACM Cancellation policy for specific details about transferring registrations.

 Will I receive a refund if I have to cancel my registration?

Refund requests must be made in writing by Monday, June 26, 2017. No refunds will be given after June 26. A processing fee of $100 will be deducted from each cancelled registration. Please review the NACM cancellation policy for further details.

Can I bring a guest to conference events?

Yes, but you will need to provide the name of your guest when you register, and you will need to pay for your guest to attend meals and social events. Guests must have their name badges at all times.

Hotel & Transportation

What hotels are providing room blocks for the conference? What are the rates?

The conference hotel is the Hyatt Regency Crystal City. Reservations can be made online or by calling (703) 418-1234. The NACM room rate is $175 per night, single/double occupancy. This rate is available only through June 15, 2017, or until the NACM room block is full.

Can I make my hotel reservation now?

Yes. It is recommended that you make your reservation early to ensure you get the special rate.

How do I get from the airport to the hotel?

The Hyatt Regency Crystal City offers complimentary shuttle to and from Reagan National Airport and Metro.

  • Courtesy Hyatt Airport Shuttle to Reagan National Airport (DCA) departs the hotel every 20 minutes on the hour from 4:40am – 12:00am. (Times subject to change.)
  • Shuttle picks up at A Terminal (2nd Curb by the marked Hotel Shuttle stop location) and B & C Terminal Arrivals, Door 5 and Door 9 (1st Curb by the marked Hotel Shuttle stop location.)
  • Courtesy Hyatt Metro Shuttle to and from Crystal City Metro Station departs the hotel front drive every 30 minutes on the hour from 6:00am – midnight Monday thru Friday, and 7:00am – midnight Saturday and Sunday. (Times subject to change.)
  • Shuttle picks up and drops off at the 20th & 23rd; Crystal Drive & 23rd; & Eads St. (Subject to change)

Is there somewhere I can print my boarding passes at the hotel?

The hotel has a 24-hour Business Center in the lobby across from the escalator where boarding passes can be printed.

Exhibit Show

What day is the Exhibit Show?

The Exhibit Show will take place on Wednesday, July 12, from 10:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Lunch is included.

Where is it being held?

The Exhibit Show is being held in the conference hotel.

Who will be exhibiting?

A list of exhibitors will be posted on the conference website under the Exhibit/Sponsor Info tab.

Social Events

Can I bring a guest to the Opening Reception on Sunday night?

Yes, but you must provide a name and pay for them to attend.

What meals are provided?

Sunday Evening is the Welcome Reception with hors d’oeurves. Lunch will be provided on Monday and Wednesday. Breakfast will be provided on Tuesday and Thursday. Tuesday Evening’s social event at the Library of Congress will offer hors d’oeurves.

Are there places nearby to eat? What about shopping?

There are several places to eat nearby that serve lunch and dinner, and numerous shops. Maps are available at the hotel’s front desk that list nearby restaurants, museums and other activities.

Where is the closest drugstore?

There is a CVS drugstore that is a 10-minute walk away that includes a pharmacy, but given that it is across Route 1 a taxicab is advised.

General Questions

What is the dress code?

Attire for the conference is Business Casual, with the exception of the event at the Library of Congress Tuesday Evening. The following are examples of each dress code for the conference:

Business Casual Attire entails the following:


  • Skirt, khakis, or pants
  • Open-collar shirt, knit shirt or sweater (no spaghetti straps or décolleté)
  • Dress


  • Seasonal sport coat or blazer with slacks or khakis
  • Dress shirt, casual button-down shirt, open-collar or polo shirt
  • Optional tie
  • Loafers or loafer-style shoes, and socks

Semiformal Attire (Library of Congress Event Tuesday evening) entails the following:


  • Short afternoon or cocktail dress
  • A “little black dress”
  • Long dressy skirt and top
  • Dressy separates

  • Tie
  • Slacks
  • Dress shoes

What is the average temperature in Arlington in February?

Average temperatures in July are 90 degrees during the day and mid 70s at night. There could be rain, so you will want to consider that when packing.
